Buffalo Bills Save $25.9 Million in Cap Space With Series of Shocking Cuts

The Buffalo Bills made significant roster moves on Wednesday, March 6, announcing the release of five players.

According to the team, the list of released players includes safety Jordan Poyer, center Mitch Morse, defensive back Siran Neal, wide receiver and punt return specialist Deonte Harty, and running back Nyheim Hines.

The release of the five players above by the Bills is expected to generate approximately $25.96 million in additional salary cap space. These moves are particularly significant for the team, considering they entered the day with a cap deficit of $40 million.

In another effort to cut their salary cap deficit, the team has also agreed on a renegotiated contract with eight-time Pro Bowl selection pass rusher Von Miller, which will clear an additional $8.6 million from their books.

Bills set to release one more player

In addition to the five players mentioned earlier, the Bills are set to part ways with cornerback Tre'Davious White, per league insider Adam Schefter of ESPN.

However, Buffalo plans to designate him as a post-June 1 cut, resulting in a savings of $10.2 million in salary cap space and $6.2 million in dead money.

This transaction will take effect after June 1, allowing White to explore opportunities with a new team as early as the following week while his contract remains on Buffalo's books until then.
