Dallas Mavericks big man Daniel Gafford achieved an unlikely NBA record during their road game against the Chicago Bulls on Monday, March 11, at the United Center.
The 6-foot-10 player went 9-of-9 from the field at the Windy City, extending his streak to making his last 28 shots over the past four games.
Gafford made history during the second quarter of the game by setting the NBA record for the most consecutive field goals made in a row since the 1996-97 season when play-by-play data started being tracked.
The 25-year-old surpassed fellow big man Derrick Favors' previous mark of 22 in the 2019-20 season with the New Orleans Pelicans.
Gafford finished the evening with 20 points, seven rebounds, one assist, one steal, and two blocks as the Mavericks came away with a dominant 127-92 win against the Bulls.

Daniel Gafford just arrived in Dallas a month ago
Gafford has been with the Mavericks for just over a month, having been acquired by the team ahead of the league's trade deadline on February 8 from the Washington Wizards.
The Wizards received center Richaun Holmes and draft compensation in exchange for the former Arkansas player.
Gafford has maintained an average of 10.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks, showcasing remarkable efficiency with a shooting percentage of 76.6 percent from the field in the 13 games he has played for the Mavericks this season.
