The fight between Scuderia Ferrari and Red Bull Racing will captivate F1 fans this year. We can anticipate Ferrari to gain some ground on Red Bull ahead of the Australian Grand Prix.

We may sound a bit too hopeful that Ferrari could cut the deficit to Red Bull even more after the first two races of the season, but the Scuderia is our only hope in dethroning the dominant Austrian F1 team.

Ferrari vs. Red Bull Will Have us Engaged this Season

Ferrari has been popping up all over the F1 feed so far this season. The Italian Constructor has made waves earlier, just before the 2024 season started, with the signing of the decorated Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton for 2025.

Then the team found their way once again at the top of news feeds with the stunning performance from youngster reserve driver Oliver Bearman, who raced in place of Carlos Sainz who was ruled out due to appendicitis at the last moment. In less than 24 hours, Bearman got himself acquainted with the SF-24 and finished the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix at P7, in his first ever Formula 1 race.

Behind these dazzling headlines, Ferrari have also been racing very well, designed a well-rounded upgradable car, and seem to be chopping at the times in getting closer to Red Bull. Ferrari is the only other team to land on the podium other than Red Bull, and are clearly the second fastest team on the grid. Upgrades are on the horizon for both teams scheduled for Imola, this is where we could potentially see a change in pace for the Championship battle.

Battle From Behind Ferrari vs. Red Bull

Aside from what could possibly be the championship fight this season between Ferrari and Red Bull, we have a couple other interesting stories from behind the leaders.

First, we will dive into another team who have had a nice leap from the previous season. This team being McLaren F1. Now the battle for McLaren is an internal one between the drivers, and it is a rather healthy one. The MCL38 is not a perfect F1 car, but it is formidable for McLaren in being one of the top teams on the grid; and at the moment being the 3rd fastest over Mercedes.

The fight between Australian Oscar Piastri and Englishman Lando Norris will be an entertaining battle, as both drivers are more than capable of bringing us some solid racing. We are sure Piastri, in his home race, will look to put on a show for the crowd; as Norris would like to solidify his role as the number one driver for McLaren.

What to Else to Expect From the Australian Grand Prix

Other things to take note of in the Australian Grand Prix is the future of the both drivers on the Visa Cash App RB F1 team, and who could be the next Mercedes driver after Lewis Hamilton's departure to Ferrari next year. Neither of these arcs will unfold right after the race in Australia, but further developments could be derived after this week's showings.

We will see if Yuki Tsunoda can maintain his good performances for a potential chance to get himself into a competitive car within the next couple years. Will Daniel Ricciardo fall further off his game? Possibly suffering the same fate that got him back in an F1 car, as the team's driver Nyck De Vries got the boot for Ricciardo last season.

And finally, even though it was already addressed, will Max Verstappen move closer to leaving Red Bull Racing in the midst of all the controversy. Verstappen made his intentions clear that he wishes to remain at Red Bull. But could a different direction from the team or even more internal drama push the driver to move on from the Austrian F1 team?

Sometimes, especially in Formula 1, where there is smoke, there is fire.
