Former New York Jets quarterback ,Zach Wilson, has been traded to the Denver Broncos for a late round pick swap. Reported by Ian Rapoport, the deal consists of a 6th for a 7th round pick swap and the Jets to eat around 5.5 Million of Wilson's contract.

Zach Wilson had a less than desirable tenure with the New York Jets. Whether it be his decision making or the Jets' ineptitude at developing a quarterback, Wilson saw very little success with the New York football team.

What the Denver Broncos See in Zach Wilson

One trait of Wilson that is unquestionable, and may be what lured the Denver Broncos to go in on him, is his stellar athleticism and arm talent. Zach Wilson has proved at the very least that he could sling the ball anywhere on the field at any angle, but unfortunately his decision making on where he goes with the ball has been his Achilles heel (Not a shot at Aaron Rodgers).

Wilson came under a lot of scrutiny with the New York Jets. He saw himself being benched on multiple occasions and booed by the fans into oblivion. Zach Wilson's career with the Jets was not an ideal path for any young quarterback; dealing with the likes of bad offensive game plan, the absolute bottom of the pack offensive line play, and an impatient hostile environment (in part Wilson's own doing from an arrogant remark early in his career).

New York Jets Zach Wilson Looks for Fresh Air at Mile High

Now onto greener pastures, but not in Green, Zach Wilson hopes to revitalize his career with the Broncos. At the beginning of last year, we saw the Jets and Broncos butt heads on the topic of New York's offensive coordinator and former Denver head coach, Nathaniel Hackett. But now we see the teams as trade partners.

The Denver Broncos hold a somewhat similar position as the Jets for Zach Wilson. The Broncos have a talented wide receiver in Cortland Sutton, a talented running back in Javonte Williams, and defense on the higher end. One big difference between the two teams is that the Broncos have a Super Bowl winning head coach calling the shots in Sean Payton.

Whether Payton truly believes in Zach Wilson is to be determined, but at the moment Wilson looks to be the lead quarterback in the Broncos current QB room. Will Zach Wilson be able to tap into his draft combine potential and prove all of New York, and the NFL, wrong after being written off so many times? A former New York Jets quarterback like Geno Smith has been here before, we may be seeing this happen once again.
