Retired soccer player and outgoing Bayern Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso is set to become the new manager of Real Madrid.

Alonso, who played for Real Madrid from 2009 to 2014, replaces current manager Carlo Ancelotti.

While the Spanish club and Alonso have yet to make an official statement as of press time, it has been reported by well-known journalist Fabrizio Romano that the agreement has been sealed between the two parties.

Official announcement is expected to be made in the coming days or weeks.

In addition, Romano also claims that Alonso will already be Real Madrid's manager come the Club World Cup, which will take place in June.

Where Will Carlo Ancelotti Go After Being Replaced by Xabi Alonso?

Now that Alonso is set to be named as manager of Real Madrid, where will Ancelotti go?

The answer to that question is Brazil. Carlo Ancelotti is set to become the manager of Brazil's men's soccer team.

Similar to Alonso and Real Madrid, the agreement between Ancelotti and Brazil is now considered a done deal.

An Italian, Ancelotti is set to become Brazil's first foreign manager. With the World Cup qualifiers coming up, the 65-year-old is expected to be officially at the helm by then.
