Danhausen and former All Elite Wrestling (AEW) Tag Team Champions Private Party are reportedly signing with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), according to the reports.

WWE Eyes Danhausen and Private Party for Roster Improvement

WWE reportedly has "major interest" in both Private Party (Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy) and Danhausen, with their AEW contracts said to be expiring extremely shortly. Sources told BodySlam that the company is in hot pursuit of "fresh-but-TV-ready talent," and these two acts fit the mold to a T.

This interest comes as part of a trend of WWE going after AEW's best free-agent signing talent, particularly those who bring in-ring preparedness and character-based performances to TV.

AEW Contract Expirations for Key Names

It's not only Danhausen and Private Party under the microscope of WWE. The report also mentions that AEW contracts of top stars such as Chris Jericho, Matt Menard, Angelo Parker, and experienced broadcaster Renee Paquette are all up for renewal before the end of 2025. Although there is no word on whether WWE is going after these people, their availability contributes to the growing interest.

This is not speculation based on thin air. WWE has done something similar in the recent past, hiring the likes of former AEW talents Penta, Rey Fenix, Aleister Black, Rusev, Ricky Saints, and Blake Monroe, whose contracts had expired, according to The Takedown.

Private Party and Danhausen in AEW

Private Party inked with AEW in April 2019 and took off fast, even winning the AEW Tag Team Championships. Their momentum has ground to a halt as of 2024, however. They have not appeared on AEW programming since dropping the titles against The Hurt Syndicate in January.

Danhausen, with his offbeat behavior and cult following, signed up with AEW in 2022. Despite sporadic TV time, he is still one of the most familiar faces in AEW's midcard and merchandising machine—attributes that may make him an apt candidate in WWE's entertainment-driven mode.

With TV rights negotiations and international expansion in the mix, the company is stocking its roster with proven personalities who bring both in-ring skill and fan engagement. WWE could effectively craft better storylines for Private Party and Danhausen.
