WWE brought fast-paced action to Manchester, England, on Aug. 26, with a live show that had fans abuzz even though it wasn't televised. One memorable moment that they wouldn't forget is when Roxanne Perez attacked CM Punk.

It's something we do not see regularly: a female wrestler delivering her finisher to a male wrestler. Oftentimes, this does not happen, as it's a rare occurrence to stage a match between two different genders.

Roxanne Perez Delivers Pop Rox to CM Punk

According to Fightful, the evening's headlining event saw Judgment Day members Dominik Mysterio, JD McDonagh, and Finn Bálor clash with CM Punk, Sami Zayn, and PENTA in a six-man tag match.

The bout came down to a wild brawl when Raquel Rodriguez distracted the referee, paving the way for Roxanne Perez, who snuck behind Punk and delivered a crushing Pop Rox.

Mysterio came so close to winning but was forced to contend with Punk after the latter kicked out before the three-count. Despite Judgment Day's interference, Punk, Zayn, and PENTA united to gain the victory in front of the shouting Manchester crowd.

Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez Fall Short

Earlier in the evening, Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez tried to reclaim the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles from Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. The champions, who won the belts at SummerSlam, were too powerful again, defending their titles against the determined rivals.

Perez's presence throughout the show featured her continuing storyline with CM Punk. Their real-life friendship has found an on-screen equivalent, with Punk playing the role of a mentor ever since he returned to WWE. Both Punk and his wife, AJ Lee, have been admired by Perez for a long time.

Other High-Profile Matches and Highlights

According to The Sportster, the Manchester show was loaded with action outside of the main matches:

  • The Usos & Jacob Fatu taking down Solo Sikoa, JC Mateo, and Tonga Loa in a wild tag match.
  • The Wyatt Sicks successfully defending their WWE Tag Team Titles against LA Knight and Rey Fenix.
  • Giulia, the WWE United States Women's Champion, defending her title in a close match against Zelina Vega.

Joe Hendry Accepts The Miz's Challenge

Perhaps the biggest moment of the evening came when TNA fan favorite Joe Hendry surprised the Manchester crowd by responding to The Miz's open challenge. Hendry, who has been making appearances for both WWE and TNA since their alliance started, beat down Miz in their inaugural singles match.

Fans continue to recall Hendry's recent WWE victory over Charlie Dempsey on the Aug. 12 episode of NXT, and his Manchester triumph gave him more momentum in his increasing crossover popularity.
