NFL Hall of Famer Kurt Warner is convinced that the Los Angeles Rams are ready to make a Super Bowl push in 2025. Talking pre-season, Warner was upbeat about his old team's prospects. He points out that with a healthy quarterback, Matthew Stafford, the Rams could be back where they belong: in the championship picture.
Rams Have the Talent to Compete in 2025
Warner told TMZ Sports that the Rams' roster was a primary reason to believe. He cited the mix of veteran leadership and youthful talent, singling out the team's defense for its energy and aptitude. Adding star wide receiver Davante Adams, along with breakout phenom Puka Nacua, gives Stafford an arsenal that can match up with anyone in the NFC.
Under Sean McVay's tutelage, Warner thinks the Rams have the right building blocks to make a serious push at the title.
Healthy Matthew Stafford Is the X-Factor
While Warner's optimism is clear, he stressed that the Rams' success hinges on Stafford's health. The veteran quarterback was the driving force behind the team's Super Bowl LVI victory, and Warner insists that a fully fit Stafford makes Los Angeles one of the toughest teams to beat. Without him, their playoff hopes could dim.
Rams Among NFC's Strongest Teams
Looking at the larger NFC picture, Warner recognized the Philadelphia Eagles as arguably the conference's most well-rounded team. Nevertheless, he persisted in believing the Rams are part of the discussion with other aspiring champions. With balance on both sides of the field and a new offensive punch, Los Angeles is one of the more compelling teams to watch in 2025.
Family Storyline
In addition to his analysis of the Rams, Warner also monitors another quarterback this year: his son, E.J. Warner. The younger Warner has been tabbed as the starting quarterback for the Fresno State Bulldogs, a significant milestone in his college football journey.
Kurt unveiled that he has been providing guidance to E.J., making him ready to face the challenges that lie ahead. The Hall of Famer's advice, predicated on decades of NFL experience, would be priceless as E.J. assumes the mantle of team leader.
Meanwhile, Heavy reported that Warner revealed he is a big fan of Bo Bix, a quarterback playing for the Denver Broncos. After Broncos head coach Sean Payton said that sophomore slumps are a thing in the league, Warner said that it could exist. He based it on his own experience of being undrafted to becoming a Hall of Famer.
