How would you feel if you put on a Broadway show and it seemed no one was there to watch?
Kevin Durant found himself trying to answer that very question in the wake of his Oklahoma City Thunder's Madison Square Garden, Christmas Day appearance and 123-94 beatdown of the Knicks.
"It felt like no one was in here," Durant told ESPN of all the stone-faced Knicks fans who glumly looked on as their team fell to 9-19 and the collectively started with fourth quarter chants of " fire (coach Mike) Woodson."
Afterward star center Tyson Chandler joined Woodson in lambasting his teammates for their lack of effort. The Knicks defense allowed the Thunder to shoot 70 percent from the floor in the first quarter and 54 percent for the game.
"There's a lot of holes," Chandler told ESPN of the Knicks porous defense. "If I started going on them all I wouldn't make it home and allow my kids to open their gifts."
The Knicks played without star forward Carmelo Anthony, still nursing a sore left ankle. Anthony remains listed as day-to-day for the Knicks, who were also without starting point guard Raymond Felton who suffered a groin injury in the closing minutes of the team's win over Orlando earlier this week.
As much as his star power, Anthony's scoring explosiveness was clearly missing against Durant and Russell Westbrook as the Knicks struggled in scoring just 38 points over the second and third quarters combined.
