World Series Odds: Find Out The Wisest Bet Of The 2015 Fall Classic [VIDEO]

The World Series begins Tuesday night in Kansas City, featuring the Mets, representing the National League, against the Royals, representing the American League. Bettors, or baseball fans whose own team is out, will not have an easy time spicing up the action. Per OddsShark.com (h/t Bleacher Report), the Mets are the favorites at -120, while the Royals are checking in at -110.

That’s really no fun to bet; unless you are passionate on either side of this World Series, and it’s difficult to see why anyone would be, betting on the World Series MVP odds might be a big more fun.

Johnny Cueto Says The Blue Jays Were Stealing Signs

First, here’s a look at the two rotations.

Mets: M. Harvey, J. DeGrom, N. Syndergaard, S. Matz

Royals (Projected): E. Volquez, J. Cueto, Y. Ventura, C. Young

How Does Daniel Murphy's Insane Postseason Stack Up With Carlos Beltran's 2004?

This rotation offers an interesting opportunity to bet on Harvey as World Series MVP. Per Sportsbook.com, Harvey’s odds are +1,000 to take home that hardware. Those odds place him squarely in a mix involving five other players. Manager Terry Collins has hinted at some fatigue for deGrom right now, and said Harvey is more likely than DeGrom to pitch three times if necessary.

ESPN’s Adam Rubin reported the Mets won’t throw anyone on short rest, but the crunch of a deficit has a way of changing things. Do not rule out Harvey pitching three times, and if so, he’ll have an excellent chance to win.

The top two favorites to win World Series MVP wear blue and orange.

1. Daniel Murphy (+450)
2. Yoenis Cespedes (+700)

The next group that includes Harvey is as follows, all at +1,000:
3.Alcides Escobar
4. Ben Zobrist
5. Edinson Volquez
6. Eric Hosmer
7. Jacob deGrom

Some other interesting bets for World Series MVP:

Curtis Granderson (+1,500): Granderson hit .280 vs. right-handed pitching in 2015, and swatted 24 of his 26 home runs against conventional pitchers. The Royals’ rotation consists of four right-handers.

Johnny Cueto (+5,000): Let’s not forget Cueto is going to approach $200 million on his next contract, and pitched an absolute gem in Game 5 of the ALDS to get Kansas City into the ALCS. He has been up and down, and mostly down since donning Royals blue, but he can go head-to-head with any starter in baseball on any given night.

Lucas Duda (+2,800): Duda’s home run to kick off the scoring vs. the Cubs in Game 4 of the NLCS could have signaled the start of a Duda hot streak. Those are devastating, and like Granderson, Duda is a far superior hitter vs. right-handed pitching.

Those who are feeling froggy can bet the exact outcome of the series. The top odds are for the Royals in seven games, at +400. The least likely outcome, per Sportsbook, is a Royals sweep of the Mets, which checks in at +1,200.

The Sports World News pick? Mets in six games at +500.
