NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti vs AMD Vega 10: Battle Of 2017 Best Graphics Card

This year is going to be tough for the graphics card manufacturers as well as the enthusiasts or gamers who want to experience the best graphics in the games. Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) and NVIDIA are ready to bring in their top-end graphics cards to the tech market.

Gamers are keenly waiting for the best developments from AMD and NVIDIA. AMD's Vega 10 and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti will be the top releases. The two devices should take up a battle and enthusiasts should decide which development will be the superior one.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti

NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti was earlier seen in CES event in Las Vegas and now according to The Tech Buyer's Guru, GeForce GTX 1080 Ti has been revealed with the an introductory date and venue. It is reported that GeForce GTX 1080 Ti will be coming in Boston at PAX East starting from March 10, 2017. Enthusiasts need to wait for more 22 days to get a glimpse of its specifications.

The upcoming NVIDIA GPU is expected to perform with a base clock speed of 1,503 megahertz (MHz) and it will boost clock speed that can go up to 1,623 MHz, reports iSportsTimes. Also, it is reported that that the NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti will be built with up to 3,328 processing cores and VRAM of 12 GB GDDR5X. For the memory, 'GeForce GTX 1080 Ti' is said to have a Memory Size of 10GB GDDR5X, Memory Bus Width of 320-bit and Memory Bandwidth of up to 400GB/s.

The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti is rumored to be priced below £750 or around $912. However, every bit of NIVIDA's development will be known when it finally hits the tech market.

AMD Vega 10

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) released the glimpses of its great Vega 10 GPU architecture later than NVIDIA showed about the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti. AMD is all set to take up a tough battle with NVIDIA. As per the report of WCCFTech, Vega GPU lineup is said to be included with two graphics chips - Vega 10 and Vega 11.

Various reports also claimed that AMD Vega 10 is seen outperforming during the RRA GPU certification against the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, which also underwent the same evaluation. The AMD GPU is reportedly seen giving more impressive performance than that of NVIDIA.

Vega 10 GPU is also going to feature 64 Compute Units or equivalent to 4,096 stream processors. Its base clock is known to work a tad better than GTX 1080 Ti at 1,550 MHz. It also proves to be better in the TeraFlops department with 12.5 compared to the GTX 1080 Ti's 10.8.

The chip will have a size of 500 mm2 and features two HBM2 stacks i.e. it is expected to sport second-gen high bandwidth memory (HBM2), incorporating up to 16 GB of HBM2. The device ID for the consumer variant is 687F:C1.

Also, it is reported that the graphics chip will be utilizing the latest 14nm GFX9 core architecture which is based on the NCU (Next Compute Engine) design. The graphics card will feature 64 Compute Units or 4096 stream processors.

AMD has designed the Vega GPUs for the wide range of applications. The company has already demonstrated the Vega at various events including the CES 2017. It is reported that AMD showcased its Vega GPU running inside its Ryzen based desktop Personal computer.

It is also reported that the company will launch the AMD Vega GPUs along with the Ryzen processors sometime near Computex event in Taipei starting from May 30, 2017.
