NFL Draft Offensive Linemen: Getting to Know the Men in the Trenches; Best and Worst O-Line Picks [VIDEO]

We have covered the best and worst of the skill position players, but no one really gives the "big uglies" their due diligence. Who got the best and worst offensive linemen of the NFL draft?

Best Picks:
Jake Matthews, OT, Atlanta Falcons

Matthews was the second-ranked tackle by many draft experts, but I had him above Greg Robinson. Matthews has the pedigree and the experience to step right into a left tackle spot and make the position a strength for any team. At No. 6 overall, not only do the Falcons get a steal, but Matt Ryan will have the best protection of his career.

Taylor Lewan, OT, Tennessee Titans
The Titans said they were shocked when Lewan fell to them at No. 11 and they didn’t think twice about picking him. Lewan will play a year at the right tackle spot before replacing Michael Roos on the left side. The Titans have Michael Oher on the roster as a utility lineman and will eventually become the right tackle. Oher and new running back Bishop Sankey benefit the most from the new and improved Titan line.

Morgan Moses, OT, Washington Redskins
Moses was mocked to be a first round pick many times, but somehow he fell to the Redskins in the third. Moses is a big talent that can be the best lineman on the team in a year or two if he sharpens his game. Robert Griffin III has had his share of injury issues, but with Moses it should take some of the heat off of him.

Questionable Picks:
Greg Robinson, OT, St. Louis Rams

I don’t hate the Rams taking a tackle at No. 2 overall, but the Rams took a tackle on upside once before in the form of Jason Smith. He was a huge bust and the Rams blew it on a “can’t miss” prospect. The Rams hope to have better luck with Robinson who is raw, but has the most upside and could become the best tackle in the class. I would have gone with a sure thing in Matthews.

Ja'Wuan James, OT, Miami Dolphins
Another team that needed offensive line help, but just made a questionable call in the player. James wasn’t regarded as a first round prospect and many didn't know his name until the Dolphins selected him. The Dolphins had to grab a tackle and they had terrible luck with how the board went for them. They would have preferred Zack Martin

Cyrus Kouandjio, OT, Buffalo Bills
The Bills are taking a huge chance on the Alabama prospect that was rumored to have an arthritic knee at the combine. Kouandjio was once a first round prospect so the value is there if he pans out, but with his history of lingering injuries and the jury being out on if his knee can hold up, the Bills might have wasted a second round pick.
