Travis Kelce is back preparing for another demanding season in the NFL, and his mother is giving fans a clear look at just how tough the process really is.

His mom, Donna Kelce, says the preparation for his 14th season with the Kansas City Chiefs is far from easy. Speaking about her son's routine, she described the training as long, intense, and physically draining.

"He always goes into his own routine with training, and it's brutal," Donna Kelce, 73, told People while discussing her partnership with GameChanger. She explained that the preparation begins months before training camp even starts.

"Then he goes to actual training camp. He has to get ready before he goes to training camp. It's a long process. It's months to get ready. That's what he's doing right now," she added.

Kelce's return comes after questions about whether he might step away from football following a challenging season for the Chiefs. The veteran tight end also faced retirement speculation earlier in the year but ultimately decided to continue playing.

Travis Kelce Signs One-Year Deal

In January, Kelce spoke about his future during an episode of his "New Heights" podcast with his brother, Jason Kelce. He said he would only return if his body felt ready for the grind of another long season.

"At the same time, if my body can heal up and rest up and I can feel confident that I can go out there and give it another 18, 20, 21-week run, I think I would do it in a heartbeat," he said.

According to Yahoo, a couple of months later, Kelce signed a one-year deal worth $12 million, officially confirming his return to the Chiefs. The news was welcomed across the NFL world, with many fans and analysts noting how important Kelce remains to Kansas City's offense.
