SummerSlam 2014 Rumors: Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair Rumored To Appear At Biggest Show Of Summer [VIDEO]

With all eyes on Sunday's Battleground pay-per-view for the WWE, the company is continuing to lay the groundwork for SummerSlam on Aug. 17 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and it appears as though WWE Hall of Famers Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair will appear at the event.

Brock Lesnar Rumored For This Week's Monday Night RAW

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, Flair and Hogan will be reuniting for the WWE as special guest hosts for a live event in San Jose on Aug. 16 on the eve of the big SummerSlam event. The main event of that show will feature John Cena vs. Kane in a Street Fight.

The two being in California for SummerSlam weekend has led to the speculation that they will make an appearance on the pay-per-view, and Hogan has been reportedly expected to be there for some time.

Sting Discusses Potential Match With The Undertaker

Hogan announced on Twitter in a tweet that has since been removed likely due to the fact that the WWE didn't announce it yet that he will be hosting the Aug. 11 RAW in Oregon that emanates six nights before SummerSlam, leading to the belief that he'll appear at the pay-per-view.

Hogan was a big part of the company's recent big tour through Japan while Flair returned to WWE television on Monday's edition of RAW prior to three-on-two main event featuring Cena and Roman Reigns against Randy Orton, Kane and Seth Rollins.

Flair also appeared for the WWE last Saturday at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Flair took a bump from Bray Wyatt after accidentally busting him open with his ring and was also on hand at Sunday's event in Wildwood, N.J.

At the Sunday event, Flair introduced his daughter Charlotte and Sasha Banks for their match against Nikki Bella and Natalya, and even took a bump on the apron after Bella slapped him.

Wrestlingheadlines.com, reports that Flair is considered to be "back" with the WWE and he signed a deal after passing all the necessary medical tests. Flair was rumored to be continuing his storyline with The Miz from the past, but with The Miz working as a heel who's concerned with his face getting injured, it is doubtful.

It appeared on RAW that creative has nothing solid for Flair to do yet and it has been reported in the past that "The Nature Boy's" idea to work with Dolph Ziggler was shot down since the WWE isn't pushing him. The company is still reportedly looking for a good Superstar for Flair to manage.

Flair and Hogan appearing at SummerSlam is speculated along with four big matches planned for the show, including Cena vs. Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, Orton vs. Reigns, Wyatt vs. Chris Jericho and Stephanie McMahon vs. Brie Bella.

Battleground airs this Sunday from the Tampa Bay Times Forum in Florida, and when everything is said and done the WWE will shift the build up toward the biggest event of the summer and second biggest pay-per-view of the year as SummerSlam airs Aug. 17 live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
