Shaquille O’Neal has decided to fight an upcoming lawsuit that claims that the future Hall of Famer publicly shamed a man with a rare genetic disorder on Instagram.

Binion suffers from ectodermal dysplasia, which causes abnormal hair growth, missing teeth and facial deformities, and O’Neal posted a picture of him that is captioned "Smile today.” O’Neal has apologized to Binion for the post and claims that the picture was rude, but in no way defamation due to the fact that Binion put the picture on social media, thus the public domain.

The case will head to court after O’Neal claims he does not have legal right to block his followers from commenting on the pictures and if they said anything that could be considered illegal, he has no way of controlling that.

This lawsuit is not expected to interfere with Shaq’s duties to TNT and no court date has been set as of yet. A judge will have the final ruling on how the social media disagreement will be handled.
