The Indiana Fever let another winnable game slip away Saturday night, blowing a 12-point second-half lead in an 83-75 loss to the New York Liberty.
The defeat marked another frustrating collapse for a team that entered the 2026 WNBA season with championship expectations.
Indiana controlled much of the game and appeared on track for a key road victory. However, the Liberty surged in the second half, taking advantage of costly turnovers and missed opportunities to complete the comeback at Barclays Center.

The loss dropped the Fever back to a .500 record and continued a troubling trend.
Indiana has already surrendered sizable leads in losses to the Washington Mystics and Golden State Valkyries earlier this season, raising concerns about the team's ability to close out games.
Caitlin Clark struggled through one of the toughest shooting performances of her professional career.
The Fever star finished with 10 points, nine assists, and seven rebounds in 34 minutes.
Clark made just four of her 14 field-goal attempts and connected on two of six shots from three-point range while committing three turnovers.
Despite Clark's difficult night, Indiana's problems extended beyond its leading guard. Teammates Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell also had trouble finding consistency.
According to FoxNews, the duo combined for eight turnovers and shot just 36.1 percent from the field, making it difficult for the Fever to maintain their advantage as New York gained momentum.
Liberty Rally Past Fever Despite Ionescu Absence
The Liberty secured the victory without one of their biggest stars. Sabrina Ionescu was unavailable due to a lingering injury, yet New York still managed to erase the deficit and take control late in the contest.
For Clark, the outing fell well below her season averages. Entering the game, she was averaging 18.7 points, 8.2 assists, and 4.7 rebounds per game, USA Today reported.
Her shooting struggles on Saturday mirrored one of the least efficient performances of her career and prevented Indiana from capitalizing on several scoring opportunities.
After 10 games, the team has yet to consistently perform like the title contender many expected before the season began.
