Dennis Rodman lambasted Carmelo Anthony, head coach Derek Fisher, and the rest of the Knicks in a recent interview. Rodman weighed in on the Knicks and their struggles, particularly relating to the triangle offense. Rodman played under Knicks team president Phil Jackson when both were with the Chicago Bulls in the late 1990s and the team enjoyed its second three-peat of the decade.

According to media reports, Rodman had plenty to say about the state of the Knicks, and he started by sharing his thoughts about superstar Carmelo Anthony.
"Everybody has an opportunity to touch the ball and shoot it. It seems like it goes back to Carmelo Anthony and then everything stops. What are you going to do?" He went on to say that he is not sure anybody will want to play with Carmelo because of how often he shoots the ball.
Rodman remarked how when the triangle centered on somebody shooting the ball too often, it failed, even with superstars like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. He also noted than when the right team was put around those players, the triangle became a nearly indefensible system.
Rodman also wondered how Phil Jackson must feel and if Derek Fisher is the right man to coach the team. "If I know Phil [Jackson, Knicks team president], he just feels like [crap] right now," said Rodman."He didn't expect this. I saw him a couple of times on TV when I was in L.A., and I'm like, I know what you feel like, Phil. You came to be the savior and all of a sudden it's like, ugh. Then you went and got Derek Fisher. Really, is he coaching? Is Derek Fisher coaching? I don't get it."
Rodman also weighed in on the difficulty the Knicks are having learning the offens: "I learned that in probably 15 minutes when I was in Chicago. It's not that difficult. It's a triangle."
Phil Jackson has said that he fears that the terrible season will impact the Knicks ability to sign free agents next offseason, when the team is expected to have significant cap room. The team is currently 4-19 and does not appear on the verge of turning it around anytime soon.
