The Golden State Warriors have the best record in the Western Conference, and they are a legitimate contender to make the NBA Finals this year. One of the major reasons for their ascendance to the top of the league this season is because of All-Star shooting guard Klay Thompson.

It has been a banner season all around for Thompson. Here are five reasons why the Golden State shooting guard is on top of the world right now:
1. He is having his best season. Thompson is averaging career-highs in points, assists, steals, and his field goal and three point shooting percentages.
2. He made his first All-Star team. Thompson made the first of what figures to be many All-Star teams this year thanks to his excellent play on both ends of the court.
3. He plays for Golden State. Playing pro sports in any capacity is an enviable job, but when you are a key member of a championship contender, well then you are sitting pretty.
4. His personal star is on the rise. Thompson's play and personality have started earning him notoriety away from the court, as he is signing endorsement deals, and he even made the regional cover of Sports Illustrated recently.
5. He is still dating Hannah Stocking. Thompson is still in a relationship with noted Instagram model Hannah Stocking, which has been going on for several months.
