Aaron Rodgers Says Ryan Braun Lied To His Face, Expresses Shock, Disappointment In Suspended Milwaukee Brewers MVP

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers claims Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun lied to his face about his use of performance enhancing drugs and posts on Twitter he's "just shocked and disappointed."

Ever since he tested positive for abnormally elevated testosterone levels in 2011, Rodgers had been one of Braun's biggest supporters, completely buying the Milwaukee Brewers MVP's initial claim that the failed test was somehow tainted.

After Braun avoided a 50-game suspension on appeal in that instance, Rodgers took to Twitter, eventually betting follower Todd Sutton a “year’s salary” that his pal was clean and drug free. Now that Major League Baseball has suspended Braun 65 games and the remainder of the 2013 season after his name was leaked as one of approximately 20 players to allegedly purchase steroids from Miami-based Biogenesis Clinic, Rodgers somberly admits “it doesn’t feel good to be lied to.”

If it’s any consolation to the 2010 Super Bowl MVP, he should know Sutton says he will be willing to take just a “game check” as recompense. "I'm not really expecting to hear from him,” Sutton told reporters. “It'd be cool, but I doubt it's going to happen."

Both just 29 and born 15 days apart, Rodgers and Braun had grown so close the Green Bay Packers star allowed his name to be used on the MVP Bar & Grill in Brookfield, Wis. owned by Braun.
