Fact: Greg Hardy was proven guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend. Fact: The defensive end still claims his innocence.
After serving a four-game suspension for assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Nicole Holder, and throwing her on a futon full of guns, Hardy said he was going to return to the league "guns blazing." That should make what he did in response to the pictures of a battered Holder reaching the public no surprise.

Hardy changed his Twitter bio to read that he was innocent and was a victim of discrimination.
"Innocent until proven guilty," Hardy's bio read until he changed it, according to Deadspin. "Lack of knowledge & information is just ignorance -- the unjust/prejudicial treatment of diff categories of people is discrimination."

That's all well and fine, Greg, but you actually were found guilty.
Hardy was charged with assaulting Holder last year, but the guilty verdict was overturned due to the charges being dismissed once his ex-girlfriend stopped cooperating during the appeals process. It was later discovered that the former couple reached a settlement as Holder took money over justice for Hardy.
Despite being found guilty and getting off due to the convenience of being a wealthy NFL player, Hardy still somehow believes he's innocent. The former Pro Bowler eventually changed his Twitter bio to lyrics from the 2Pac song "Hail Mary," but the damage was done.
The Cowboys defensive end was set to serve 60 days in jail after being found guilty, but after the settlement, his charges were dropped and his record was recently expunged, meaning the crime was no longer a part of his personal history.
Due to technicalities of the law, Hardy can claim to have a clean record, but as hard as he tries, it's an uphill battle to convince the public he's innocent and anyone with common sense knows he's wrong.
