It seems that every year throws a random player into the scene before entering the professional competition. If you are searching for some college basketball players who are making waves in their performance, here's a list for you to browse and satisfy your curiosity.

We will rank the top 10 rising basketball players who continue to rise at the college level.

10. Alex Barcello

BYU senior guard Barcello continues to gather more recognition with his performance. He is now leading BYU with his current average of 19.2 points and 5.2 boards per game. The Cougars are now 5-2 after losing to Boise State Broncos, but that does not mean that Barcello will come down. Two of his latest games saw him scoring 20 and 23 against Saint John and Utah State, respectively.

9. Justin Lewis

Justin Lewis is only in his first year as a forward for the Marquette Golden Eagles. His recent performance took him nice drilling when the Golden Eagles dumped No.4 Wisconsin Badgers after escaping to a 67-65 win. Along with the team's win, he recorded an 18-point, eight-rebound production. Marquette currently leads the Big East at 4-1. Lewis still has some work needed to be done to finish the remaining games on December 14.

8. Sahvir Wheeler

Sahvir Wheeler is only in his second year but is already wrecking teams with his plays. The sophomore guard leans on his double-double average of 16.7 points and 10 dimes per game. Currently, the Georgia Bulldogs have won against Montana Grizzlies, 63-50, for their fourth straight win during the regular games kick-off.

7. Hakim Hart

Maryland Terrapins was 4-1 before the conference play, thanks to sophomore guard Hakim Hart, who made the team's biggest difference. Despite their recent loss against Clemson Tigers, 67-51, Hart was seen firing long shots in his previous game against Saint Peters Peacocks. He scored 33 big points in 85.7 percent shooting. His outside shooting should not be ignored after Hart hit 71.4 percent from beyond the arc. Peacocks bowed in the end, 90-57.

6. Zach Freemantle

Sophomore forward Zach Freemantle was the forerunner of Xavier Musketeer's 7-0 start for this season. Freemantle has a lot of bearing for the team, leading the scoring with 17.2 points. The 6-foot-9 forward cat catches his opponent from his position when he notched 58 field goal percentage to come with 36 percent from the three-point line. Freemantle averaged eight rebounds per game, which is second to his teammate Jason Cater with 8.4 boards.

7. Xavier Pinson

Many are sleeping with Missouri Tigers this season, without noticing one player who put them to a flawless record. Xavier Pinson scored 12 points in his recent game against Liberty Flames, 69-60, which landed them at 4-0. He is one of the reasons why Missouri is sailing to an easy card. Pinson currently averages 14 markers per game for Missouri.

4. Marcus Sasser

Marcus Sasser is one hell of a guard to look out for this season. Sasser has been averaging 17.3 points per game for the Houston Cougars. The team now clings to a 5-0 start after beating South Carolina Gamecocks, 77-67. Sasser's latest game made him a hard shooter to contest after scoring 17 points in a 64-53 win over Texas Tech Red Raiders.

3. Hunter Dickinson

Hunter Dickinson is a big man that will serve you with a warning. Dickinson just got started in college, but the Juwan Howard-led squad is already enjoying a 5-0 record right from the bat. His latest game against Toledo Rockets proved that he is unstoppable under the basket. He scored 18 points to go with seven rebounds and four blocks. He averages 14.8 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks for the Michigan Wolverines.

2. Moses Moody

Moses Moody is cool during the play, but his surname will tell you how 'moody' he is in taking the best shot selections for Arkansas. The Razorbacks are off to a good beginning at 5-0. Their latest game against Southern Jaguars showed that they should not be underestimated at all costs. The final score of 79-44 saw three players scoring 12 points, including Moody. The freshman currently averages 17.3 markers per game.

1. Javonte Perkins

Javonte Perkins punctuated a statement for the Saint Louis Billikens after they defeated Central Arkansas Bear in a pulsating 88-65 win. Their penultimate game against Arkansas-Pine Bluff was a landslide, 107-54, with Perkins scoring 15 points and five rebounds. Saint Louis now holds a 4-0 standing. Perkins has been averaging 19.8 points in his last four games.
