Tyler Herro, the guard for the Miami Heat, sustained a broken right hand during Game 1 against the Milwaukee Bucks. He is now expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks.

The injury occurred in the second quarter while diving for a loose ball, breaking the middle and ring finger on his shooting hand. Although he attempted to run off the floor, he was in too much pain and had to sit out for the remainder of the first half.

Tyler Herro Had a Strong Start

Despite the injury, Herro had a solid start to the game, scoring 12 points in 19 minutes on 5-of-9 shooting from the field. Heat defeated the Bucks with a 130-117 score.

This injury is a significant loss for the Miami Heat because the team is struggling to generate offense outside of Jimmy Butler, their star forward. The team had the lowest points per game average in the league at 109.5, making Herro's contribution essential. As the reigning Sixth Man of the Year, he averaged 20.1 points per game, which ranked third on the team.

The Miami Heat has a history of upsetting the Milwaukee Bucks, having done so in the 2020 playoffs. As such, they are looking to repeat their success and challenge for another playoff upset, but losing Herro will undoubtedly make this more challenging.

In related news, Giannis Antetokounmpo, the MVP finalist for the Bucks, also suffered an injury and was ruled out midway through Game 1.
