WWE Plans Content Changes in Raw's Third Hour

The chief executive added that the company is discussing making Raw's third hour "more adult."

The company peaked in popularity among pop culture during its Attitude Era from the late 1990s to the early 2000s. WWE programming regularly showed adult-themed content during this time.

The professional wrestling promotion permanently changed Raw's runtime to three hours since it aired its 1000th episode on July 23, 2012.

The three-hour format used to be reserved for special episodes, with regular Raw episodes lasting only two hours prior.

WWE has tried to rejuvenate the third hour of Raw in the past, which regularly suffers from a drop in rating compared to the first two hours.

In 2019, they tried to change the look of the final hour of the Monday night show, with WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley saying that it would become "downright mean and nasty" and a "little bit dirty, as per Wrestling Inc.

Many fans and people in the business have criticized the show's length, including former WWE Universal champion Seth Rollins stating that two hours is the perfect number for the weekly show, while three hours is "obnoxiously long."
