The last season was probably the first time all 16 playoff teams, plus the play-in ones thought they could win the title.

Many agree that the playing field has been leveled in the past four seasons, and it is because of many factors.

One factor an NBA executive is pointing to is the end of the dominance of Lebron James and Stephen Curry, who owned the last decade.

A team official said the two dancing with father time is one of the reasons why the league is for anybody's taking now.

"I think things are cyclical," the Eastern Conference executive said, as quoted in a special report by ESPN's Tim Bontemps.

"The reality is LeBron is older, so the guy that's driven that for the prior 15 years isn't in the position where he alone can will himself to championships anymore. Same with Steph."

It can be remembered that these two were both parts of the last two NBA dynasties - the Miami Heat and Golden State Warriors.

Other factors why there is no more dynasty

Curry and James getting old is just one factor in how dynasties are no longer easy to form in the NBA.

Bontemps also credits the front office for making it impossible for teams to stack their roster with max players.

He wrote that the new CBA created by Commissioner Silver Adams and his team, together with NBA player representatives, should get the props.

"I think with this new agreement, it will help to further distribute great players around the league," he said last July.

"Now, that doesn't ensure championships. Management still matters a lot in this league, [as does] coaching and everything else."
