To the surprise of many wrestling fans, WrestleMania 42, which is scheduled for next year, will no longer be held in New Orleans despite previous announcements made by WWE.
Instead, New Orleans will reportedly host a different premium live event, Money in the Bank. It will also host a future WrestleMania instead.
The confirmation was made by the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation.
"The Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation and New Orleans & Company are working closely with our friends at TKO to expand our long-standing partnership, which will include UFC 318 on July 19, 2025, Money in the Bank in 2026, and WrestleMania—which will move from the currently scheduled 2026 timeframe to a future year," the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation said in a statement, according to Bleacher Report.
The initial announcement that WrestleMania 42 was heading to New Orleans was made in February by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

While WWE itself has yet to confirm the relocation of WrestleMania 42, numerous speculations have sprouted all over the internet.
It has been reported that WWE may opt to keep WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas, which was where this year's WrestleMania was held.
Speculations that WWE may choose to go global by bringing WrestleMania to the likes of London or Saudi Arabia have been going around social media. However, Las Vegas seems to be the most likely candidate as of writing.
