Former AEW and Ring of Honor stars The Righteous are making their way to WWE, recent rumors claim. The tag team division in wrestling entertainment will be much more intense with the addition of Vinny and Dutch, who are reportedly nearing an agreement.

AEW Stars Cross Over to WWE

WWE brought several high-profile names from AEW in the last year, featuring Andrade, Aleister Black, and Ethan Page. Now, as per a Fightful report, the tag team The Righteous, Vinny and Dutch, have come to terms with WWE.

The team, who were once ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champions, have apparently told independent promoters they are finishing up their bookings on the indie scene over the next few months.

Many fans have speculated that this would happen long before the rumors came out. WWE has had its eye on The Righteous for years, even offering them a tryout in 2022. However, with Vince McMahon's involvement in facilitating WWE's sale at that time, new signings were temporarily frozen. With management shifts now complete, the timing seems perfect for the team's arrival.

Strong Support Behind the Scenes

The Righteous aren't entering WWE unnoticed. Several key figures within the company have reportedly lobbied for their signing. Elijah has been a strong advocate for the pair, while the late Bray Wyatt was also said to be very high on their potential. This behind-the-scenes support suggests WWE sees significant long-term value in adding the team to its roster.

Boost for WWE's Tag Team Division

The Takedown reports that the WWE's tag team divisions on both Raw and SmackDown stand to benefit greatly from The Righteous' arrival.

On SmackDown, they could join an already stacked lineup that includes the Motor City Machine Guns, Street Profits, DIY, and the eerie Wyatt Sicks.

On Raw, their presence would inject much-needed energy into a division that has struggled for depth. Currently, The Judgment Day holds the World Tag Team Championships, but fresh challengers have been scarce.

From AEW to WWE

The Righteous initially debuted in AEW in 2023, wrestling on AEW Dynamite and Rampage, and also making appearances in Ring of Honor after Tony Khan's brand purchase. They stood out because of their unique style and dark, cult-like presentation, and WWE is now going to provide them with an even larger platform.

If the rumors are true, Vinny and Dutch will bring their unconventional flair and tough-as-nails approach to WWE fans everywhere soon. For fans of both shows, this crossover is yet further proof that the AEW-WWE line starts to blur further. Perhaps the tag team division stands to benefit the most of all.
