Deonna Purrazzo came to All Elite Wrestling (AEW) with a lot of steam, but her television time is not that great. Although the start was slow, AEW President Tony Khan has made it sound like Purrazzo's saga in the company is not yet over.

Deonna Purrazzo's AEW Debut

According to The TakeDown, Purrazzo signed formally with AEW in January 2025 and did not take long to leave her mark. She came close to taking the AEW Women's World Championship from Toni Storm at AEW Revolution, although she eventually came up short in her championship quest. The former Impact Wrestling star has only appeared a few times on AEW shows since then.

During rare moments of TV time, Purrazzo has wrestled in Ring of Honor (ROH), picking up strong wins. These successes made her a potential candidate to take part in a speculation surrounding a Women's Pure Championship tournament, which unfortunately never materialized.

Tony Khan Explains Purrazzo's Absence

In a recent media appearance for ROH Death Before Dishonor, Khan spoke on Purrazzo's diminished exposure. He complimented her as a "really, really great wrestler" with immense potential in AEW and ROH.

Tony Khan also mentioned AEW's working relationship with CMLL in Mexico, saying Purrazzo had competed there in late 2024 against La Catalina. Khan said that experience caused some issues with AEW's international partners, which could have led to her absence from TV.

Setbacks and Missed Opportunities

Khan disclosed that Purrazzo was booked for a bout at Death Before Dishonor, but injuries to the women's division made the card subject to change. He conceded that setbacks are a part of life, but they should not end the career of a wrestler.

"One bad match shouldn't be the end of a career," Khan said via The TakeDown's transcription, affirming that Purrazzo will have another opportunity to reinvent herself in AEW.

Purrazzo's Positive Attitude and Future Plans

Even with her minimal TV time, Purrazzo has maintained a good presence on social media, not afraid to show her desire to remain busy in the ring via independent bookings. Khan praised her professionalism, citing her as a good influence in the locker room.

He reiterated that Purrazzo's dedication to remaining active and having a good attitude is precisely what AEW looks for in the talent. Khan explicitly stated that he plans on "getting Deonna going again" and giving her fresh opportunities in the future.

At the age of 31, Purrazzo has more than enough time to make her mark in AEW and ROH. Through championship reigns, high-profile feuds, or foreign expeditions, the Virtuosa's career is far from being concluded.

Meanwhile, Khan also commented about Chris Jericho's future via Cageside Seats. He would like to see Chris come back to AEW. However, he's not yet sure when.
