A new furry superstar has joined the Los Angeles Dodgers family, and this one isn't throwing fastballs. World Series MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto has introduced fans to his newest companion, a shelter dog he adopted after first meeting him at a West Los Angeles animal shelter last August.

This past weekend, the Dodgers ace shared a series of touching photos officially welcoming Carlos into his life and into Dodgers lore.

Meet Carlos, the Gentle Dog Stealing Hearts

Yamamoto posted a series of photos on Saturday, including one of Carlos boarding a private jet at his side and another where the laid-back pup sports Yamamoto's shades like a natural-born celebrity. In his caption, the superstar pitcher described the dog as calm and easy-going, and said Carlos loves "naps, walks, and good food".

The pitcher's affection for his new best friend was palpable. Yamamoto also posted an emotional video from their first meeting, when Carlos can be heard whimpering softly from inside his kennel, a moment that clearly stuck with the Dodgers ace.

Life-Changing Connection for the Dodgers Ace

A beaming Yamamoto expressed just how much the adoption meant.

"I'm really happy mi Carlitos is with me now🐾."

Many Reddit fans wondered why Yamamoto always wants to learn how to speak Spanish. Well, this might be the reason if you're still looking for some answers.

It's another milestone in the pitcher's whirlwind journey since leaving Japan for Major League Baseball. In December 2023, he signed a record-breaking 12-year, $325 million contract with the Dodgers, the largest deal ever given to a pitcher.

Now, alongside his transition into baseball stardom, he has taken on the role of devoted dog dad, giving Carlos a new home and a new life far from the shelter he once called his home.

Carlos Joins the Dodgers' Growing List of Canine Celebrities

Carlos isn't just Yamamoto's best friend. In fact, he's now part of a fun Dodgers tradition. He joins the ranks of another beloved team dog, Decoy, the famous pup belonging to Shohei Ohtani.

Decoy stole the show in 2024 when he delivered the ceremonial first pitch and later became the star of a golden bobblehead giveaway. That moment turned Decoy into a fan-favorite legend since then.
