Tonight at 6:00 p.m. ET, Syracuse (6-6, 4-4 SEC) and Minnesota (8-4, 4-4 Big 10) go head-to-head live from Reliant Stadium in Houston. The game can be live streamed for free here. Syracuse fans can hear all of the action on WTKW-FM 99.5 while Minnesota fans can do the same on WCCO-AM 830.

Minnesota will look to erase bad memories of losing in the Texas Bowl last year while Syracuse enters looking to show that it has improved since Minnesota defeated it last year.

Minnesota dropped the Texas Bowl 34-31 to Texas Tech last year, ruining its chances for a winning season.

"We enjoyed our experience last year and wish we could have come away with a victory," coach Jerry Kill said via ESPN. "I know our players, especially the 12 from Texas, welcome the opportunity to represent the University of Minnesota in a state that has great football tradition."

Kill's team looks for its second nine-win season in 108 years.

"We have a great opportunity to compete and continue to make history as a team," Kill said per ESPN. "Nine games, winning nine games is important to us, winning a bowl game is important to us."

New coach Scott Shafer will try to guide his team to some revenge against Minnesota, which beat it 17-10 last season. The Orange will have their hands full trying to contain Golden Gophers running back David Cobb.

"They've got a doggone good running back in Cobb," Shafer told Syracuse's official website. "He can run the football and he runs it well because they block it well up front. They're a sound, tough team. They're going to be a team that doesn't shoot themselves in the foot."

Cobb, a Texas native, is sixth in the Big Ten with 1,111 rushing yards on 219 carries with seven scores.

Syracuse will counter with a ground game of their own led by Jerome Smith, who has 840 rushing yards on 184 carries for 11 touchdowns.

Both teams know it will be a battle of their respective running games that will prove who stands tall.

"They don't throw a lot of interceptions and they play a good, tough brand of football, but it's the run game first and foremost," Shafer said per ESPN.

Syracuse and Minnesota go head-to-head in the Texas Bowl tonight at Reliant Stadium.
