According to USA Today, WWE executed a shocking swerve at Money in the Bank, bringing back R-Truth during the intense match that pitted Cody Rhodes and World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso against Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena and social media personality Logan Paul.
What made it all the more unique was the emotional significance of Truth's return.

Having learned that his WWE contract would not be renewed, Truth seemed to be out the door. But the public wouldn't hear of it. Their sheer public support, expressed in deafening "We Want Truth" chants at numerous WWE shows, forced the company to change its mind.

As reported by PWInsider, WWE had a change of heart regarding the release of Truth following fan outrage. That move led to Saturday's shocking return, and yes, Truth is now officially on the WWE roster.

Surprisingly, WWE has chosen to feature him under his actual name, Ron Killings, at least momentarily. WWE Shop also backed this change up by introducing a new merchandise piece captioned "Ron Killings" just after his return inside the ring, accompanied by a photo of him live at Money in the Bank.

From Indie Talks to WWE Ring in 72 Hours

Before this shock return, Killings had been said to have started negotiating live appearances on the independent circuit. Those plans have been put on ice in the last 72 hours, as WWE moved swiftly to re-sign the veteran fan favorite.

While details about his new contract and future WWE storylines remain under wraps, the decision to bring Killings back was fueled by fan passion and his undeniable charisma.

Whether it's as comic relief or in a more serious role, Killings has always had a unique way of connecting with the crowd, something that clearly hasn't changed.
