Mock Draft 4.0 Part One: Jadeveon Clowney's Pro Day elevates him to top spot? Surprise QB joins the top 10 [VIDEO]

Sports World News’ official mock draft starts today with the 2014 NFL Draft 41 days away in Radio City Music Hall. We will be updating the mock draft every Friday and will be in three parts. Part one will be 1-10, part two will be 11-20 and part three will be 21-32. Here is part one:

Sports World News NFL Mock Draft 4.0: Part Three

1. Houston Texans: Jadeveon Clowney, DE, South Carolina
Against my better judgement it’s time to put Clowney in the No. 1 spot. His pro day was fantastic and knocked out all doubts teams could have had about his work ethic. Clowney isn’t ideal for a 3-4 OLB and didn't look great in OLB drills, but the talent is too great. Bill O’Brien will have to find his QB later.

2. St. Louis Rams (via Redskins): Khalil Mack, OLB, Buffalo
Rumor is the Rams are in love with Mack, so why not mock based off what the news is now. Mack would make a great pass rush even better and would have to find a home in the 4-3. Since Clowney is gone it wouldn't make sense for the Falcons to trade down for a person out of scheme.

3. Jacksonville Jaguars: Blake Bortles, QB, Central Florida
The Jaguars get their QB of the future, but you can bet they would have wanted a Top 2 pass rusher. Bortles is the best in the class at this point and would give the Jags an instant upgrade over every QB they have on roster. If the draft falls this way the Jaguars have no choice.

 4. Cleveland Browns: Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson
The Browns have purged the QB position and the fact that they have two first round picks will benefit them again. They grab the top playmaker in the draft in Watkins. The Browns wide receiver situation goes from terrible to one of the best in two seasons. If only they had someone who could throw the ball. Note: The only Top 10 pick to stay the same in version 3.0

 5. Oakland Raiders: Derek Carr, QB, Fresno State
This is the huge change that could very well happen. Carr has been on the Raiders radar for weeks apparently and it would be a very Raider move to go get their guy no matter the draft position. The Raiders have done it in the past and it’s bound to happen again

 6. Atlanta Falcons: Greg Robinson, OT, Auburn
The Falcons strike out on a pass rusher so they protect the one thing they still have, Matt Ryan. Robinson is atop everyone's draft board, but I prefer Matthews at OT. Atlanta settles for best player on the board instead of a need, poor luck for the Falcons.

7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M
The Buccaneers don’t appear to be looking in the direction of a WR, so they protect their old QB in Josh McCown. Matthews is a great talent that will hold down the left side of the line for years to come in Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers get better although it isn’t the most attractive position choice.

8. TRADE Chicago Bears: Aaron Donald, DT, Pittsburgh
The Bears trade with the Vikings to take the first DT off the board before someone else does. Playing against Aaron Rodgers and Matt Stafford can have that effect on you. Look at what the Bears have done on defense and you tell me if they are gunning for the QB.

9. Buffalo Bills: Mike Evans, WR, Texas A&M
Rumor is the Bills want to add a WR and part ways with Stevie Johnson. If this is true, Evans falls right into the realm of possibility. Evans would match well with Robert Woods and give EJ Manuel a fighting chance.

10. Detroit Lions: Anthony Barr, OLB, UCLA
The Lions could still go with Justin Gilbert, but at this point I think they are leaning toward Barr. Barr is the versatile OLB that any defense would love to add and his finesse style would match up well with the grit of the Lions defensive line. The Lions upgrade the pass rush after losing DE Willie Young.
