The worst kinds of injuries are those that are avoidable, the ones that did not happen during the game.
That's what Jarred Kelenic realized in hindsight, as he is now set to be sidelined for a foreseeable time after fracturing his foot from kicking a cooler.
How long will he be out for that? Manager Scott Servais said the outfielder is lucky not to need surgery, but he is bracing for the worst since a fractured foot injury is not something to be taken lightly.

"I know it's his left foot," he said after the A broken bone; I don't know what the timetable is, but it takes a while for those things to heal. So he'll be in a boot and immobilized for the time being."
The incident occurred during the ninth inning of their loss, 3-6, to Minnesota Twins. They closed the series with a 5-0 victory the next day to make it 2-2.
Kelenic, both physically and emotionally hurt
Kelenic now deals with the physical pain in his foot and the emotional guilt for his actions.
Although they are on top of the AL Central, there's not much separating them from the other teams below, with the Cleveland Guardians just two games behind.
"I just feel terrible," Kelenic told reporters after their 5-0 victory Thursday.
"Especially for the guys. I just let the emotions get the best of me, and I just let them down. I take full responsibility for it. It's on me. That just can't happen."
