Tennessee Titans Draft Needs, Rumors: Chris Johnson, Alterraun Verner Gone, Hardest Team to Predict for 2014 NFL Draft? [VIDEO]

Here at Sports World News we will count down each NFL team's 2014 draft needs and perfect fits. At the end of every team we will make a pick on who the team could take at their position.

Sports World News NFL Mock Draft 7.0

2013 Review: It’s hard to get a bead on the Titans after the 2013 season. The Titans hung tough in all 16 games, but came out of it 7-9. This team was a far cry from the 2012 edition that let up a NFL record amount of points, but change is coming in the form of the 3-4 hybrid. If Jake Locker can put together 16 healthy games the Titans could be a sleeper pick to claim the AFC’s sixth seed.

Needs:
Running Back:
Gone is Chris Johnson and in is a running back by committee that includes Shonn Greene, Dexter McCluster and Jackie Battle. The Titans can add their pick of the running back litter in the second round this season with the whole league being very low on the 2014 class.

Outside Linebacker: The Titans added some talent to the position and with the switch to the 3-4 they should have a better outside presence, but they need more talent. Akeem Ayers can move to his natural position in the 3-4, while Zach Brown is now moving inside and is not in his natural scheme. The Titans could add Anthony Barr at No. 11 but the draft is cooling on him.

Cornerback: Tennessee lost Alterraun Verner to free agency, but didn't attempt to sign any replacement for his spot. This tells me the Titans will move forward with who they have on staff already and won’t waste the first round pick on a corner. The Titans will draft a corner, but the first round seems like a reach.

Targets: Justin Gilbert, CB, Oklahoma State
Anthony Barr, DE/OLB, UCLA
Khalil Mack, DE/OLB, Buffalo
Bradley Roby, CB, Ohio State

Best First Round Fit: Khalil Mack, DE/OLB, Buffalo
Now I do not believe Mack has a shot at dropping to No. 11 overall, but he is the best fit for the Titans. Tennessee needs an angry pass rushing presence for their new defense and Mack is exactly that. The pick will more than likely be Barr and that is perfect for the team, but he isn’t the player Mack is and probably never will be.
